Styling and Artistry

Good Morning Everyone!!

Some of you may be wondering….

What is Styling and Artistry?

Let me start this post, by telling you about myself.

My name is Celeste, and I am a hair STYLIST and makeup ARTIST.  I am a freelance artist, which means that I travel to my client’s location, including wedding venues, fashion shows, and photo shoots. As a freelance artist, my jobs can be anywhere from helping you pick out the right foundation for your skin type, to getting a bride and all her bridesmaids ready on the big day, ON LOCATION.

I started out in the industry back in cosmetology school, where I learned color applications, and haircuts. Believe it or not, I loved school! But of course, I was anxious to get out in the real world. After completing and passing my state boards, I did an internship at a local salon. There, I learned all about the hairdressing industry.  I spent my days foiling, sectioning, and making people feel beautiful. I became an expert! In addition to doing hair, I started to take advantage of the salon’s makeup line. I began doing add-on makeup applications for my clients. As I started doing more and more, my interest in makeup began to grow.

That’s how I decided to go to makeup school. I went through an agency who did extensive training and long hours that I never wanted to end! We learned everything from classic beauty applications, to high fashion looks!

I then started working with Kristen Booth Photography. We started what is now the Fantasy Series! In doing this, my business came alive!

As time went on, I started working fashion shows with my agency. This sparked alot of excitement for me. I found it so exciting to be backstage with the models, and the directors. I was in my element when doing quick touch-ups on the models after wardrobe changes.F2 Fashion Show

I was so excited to start booking weddings and engagement shoots. I LOVED being on location. I LOVED being a part of these events. I LOVEDDDDD making people feel confident, and beautiful. My favorite moments are those where the bride looks in the mirror, and lights up with a smile!! That moment in an artist’s eyes, is priceless!

  • Because I’m trained and passionate to make you feel and look beautiful for any occasion.  I know how to make you look flawless on camera, and I am there for you for touch ups during a shoot. I can bring your event or photographs to another level, and you will have confidence to shine!

Family Shoot: Me and Makailo :)

Hello All!! I would like you to meet someone very special to me. My motivation, my everything….

 Makailo!!!:)

He is my 2 1/2 year old ball of energy! He brings so my joy to my life, and these pictures definitely capture my love for him.

Kristen Booth  was able to freeze so many precious moments between me and my son! She is an amazing photographer, who I have worked with behind the camera doing hair and makeup. But I’d have to say, that it was fun being on the other side of the camera, especially with Kailo!

Big shout out to Miss Ashley of Patterns on Walls  for our amazing wardrobe styling!!

I will warn you….. being a proud mother, had a BIT of difficulty eliminating images. Haha! I hope you love them as much as I do!

This first picture is totally us. lol

This is me trying to have my way, and him quickly getting his. haha

Fantasy Series: Queen of the Marine

Ahhhhhh…. QUEEN OF THE MARINE!!!:)

Let me start by sharing the history behind the Fantasy Series. It all started with Enchanted Love. This was one of the first projects that Kristen and I worked on together. After finishing this shoot, we loved it so much that we knew this wouldn’t be the end. Which then led us to plan out another shoot, the first of the Fantasy series, Ethereal Beauty. For this, we brought in a new member to creative team, the lovely Ashley from Patterns on Walls. She is a prop, wardrobe and detail stylist. With this team of driven, passionate and creative talent, you know there will be many more to come:)

Queen of the Marine, is part two of our Fantasy Series. And this shoot, is so dear to my heart. I am beyond excited to share it with you!

My work with this project began a few weeks before the actual shoot. I lightened and colored our lovely model’s hair, to acheive that warm hazelnut color that you see in these images. I also added extensions to give her long, beautiful, mermaid-like hair. :) Nicole was so down for doing anything to bring my vision to life! Our heart and soul poured out to this to achieve results that takes my breath away.

So ladies and gents, here it is…. My favorite images from the

QUEEN OF THE MARINE:)

Do you remember the Free Wedding Giveaway?

Kristen Booth Photography hosted a contest for this giveaway to launch her new blog and website and asked me to be a vendor!

Well these are out beautiful winners, Sheena and Kyle! They received free photography by Kristen, and to be styled for both their engagement pictures and the wedding! Lucky couple right?

They are truly a special couple who’s love sparks both on camera and off. They were so giggly and happy with each other that Kristen caught some of the most pure moments between the two.

Sheena is a beautiful girl who I had the pleasure in doll up for this shoot!:)

Wedding: Lilah and Zac

Lilah and Zac are the vision of young love.  They are such an awesome  couple, who are truly after God’s heart. Lilah was definitely an easy going bride. She trusted that everything would come together in perfect harmony since the moment the wedding planning started. I asked her at least 5 times if she was nervous… she casually shrugged her shoulders and said “No, I’m excited!” I don’t know about you, but i don’t know to many brides this trusting the day of their wedding. And with all this calmness and certainty, every detail of this wedding turned out beautifully. Women of all ages need to be coached by this girl before their wedding day:)

Prior to the wedding, Lilah texted me and said that she wanted to cut and color her hair. But she didnt want the typical root touch-up, refresh and trim. She wanted some natural low-lights, and to cut off about SIX INCHES!! And can you guess if she was nervous or apprehensive? Of course not! But boy am I glad for her sudden crave for a change, because she looks stunning with short hair!

As you look through these images, you will notice her vintage theme. She made her birdcage veil which was gorgeous. We gave her a wave patterned curl with accenting detail around her face with lots of bounce, shine and movement. She looked absolutely beautiful!

Congratulations you two!:)
